    President

    Thomas is majoring in the School of Visual Performing Arts seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree in Environmental and Interior Design with a minor in Political Science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. This combination incorporates ethics to push design thinking which creates an inclusive and equitable environment. Interior designers carry legal obligation to issue sustainable solutions to their clients and are bound to maintain quality craftsmanship throughout the design process and Thomas is excited to continue thee themes as he designs.

    Vice President of Operations

    As the Vice President of Operations for the IIDA Syracuse Chapter, Hema is tasked with overseeing activities, events, and member engagement, as well as managing the documentation and distribution of meeting minutes. She diligently assists the board with various tasks as required.

    A rising senior at Syracuse University, Hema is pursuing a degree in Environmental and Interior Design with a minor in Psychology. Her work is deeply rooted in prioritizing the user experience and their interaction with the built environment. With a strong conviction that design should be forward-thinking and environmentally conscious, she continuously explores innovative approaches to minimize ecological impact while enhancing aesthetic appeal. Outside of her design pursuits, Hema finds joy in outdoor activities like hiking and indulges in her passion for cooking.

    Vice President of Communications

    In her role as Vice President of Communications, Lauren is responsible for engaging with both current and prospective members of IIDA Syracuse Campus Center. This involves managing and bringing creative skills to online platforms and social media, as well as networking within the student community.

    Lauren, a rising senior, aims to design holistic spaces that go beyond visual appeal and incorporate principles of sustainability, inclusivity, and functionality. By exploring and researching the dynamics of communities and surrounding environments, she incorporates meaningful details into interior spaces, fostering a sense of connection for users. Her commitment lies in creating spaces that cater to the diverse needs of unique users and communities while exploring innovative methods to promote healthier indoor environments.

    Vice President of Professional Outreach

    As Vice President of Professional Outreach for IIDA Syracuse Chapter, Bailey’s role includes networking with professionals within the industry, planning and managing events, ensuring the well-being of organization members, and promoting their professional goals.

    Bailey is a rising senior at Syracuse University majoring in Environmental and Interior Design. She strives to create spaces that enhance the user's experience by understanding the diverse needs, preferences and lifestyles of individuals.She is committed to pushing the boundaries of design innovation while advocating for a more resilient and regenerative future.

    Vice President of Member Services

    As the Vice President of Member Services for the IIDA Syracuse Chapter, Jourdan undertakes the responsibility of nurturing a community of aspiring interior designers while fostering their integration into the esteemed IIDA network. Tasked with orchestrating future events and presentations, Jourdan meticulously highlights the numerous advantages and intrinsic value that IIDA offers to careers in interior design.

    With an academic background encompassing Environmental and Interior Design (EDI), complemented by minors in Psychology and Philosophy, Jourdan embodies a fusion of analytical acuity and holistic understanding. Her commitment to the craft of design transcends conventional boundaries, viewing it not merely as an aesthetic endeavor but as an intellectual pursuit that interweaves diverse perspectives and communal engagement. Embracing design as a channel for collaborative synthesis, Jourdan embodies the ethos of harmonizing multifaceted viewpoints to create bespoke solutions tailored to individual needs.

    Vice President of Finances

    Luzon believes that design is the underlying power that shapes our beliefs, cultures

    and mindsets. When design is thoughtfully done, it becomes a space that inspires innovation,

    fosters thought and creates community. She believes that a holistic approach to a design

    is the most important as we are nothing without context and the history of what has come before us. She hopes to create design that provides for the people by giving them the

    resources they need so that they do not feel forgotten.

    Vice President of Policy and Social Initiatives

    As the Community Service and Activities chair, Lucia helps to manage and oversee community service opportunities as well as planning events, activities, and fundraising efforts for the organization.

    Lucia has had a passion for community service since high school, always being involved in community service organizations as both a general body member and a board member. She is a rising Junior majoring in Environmental + Interior Design with a dual minor in Architecture and Business. She aims to create a sustainable design style that brings communities together in functional spaces that accomplish the needs and lifestyles of the users and adapt to the surroundings. Inclusivity is also important as she tries to create designs that cater to everyone.

    Environment Specialist

    As the Environment Specialist for the IIDA Syracuse Campus Center, Lindsey is dedicated to fostering sustainable design practices and facilitating discussions on environmental consciousness. Her primary goal is to organize events that promote sustainable design principles and raise awareness about the environmental impacts of design.

    Currently a rising junior majoring in Environmental and Interior Design, Lindsey has recently declared a minor in Sustainability in Design to further hone her expertise in this area. Her passion for environmental advocacy has been a driving force throughout her academic journey.

    When creating designs, Lindsey prioritizes environmental friendliness, sustainability, and inclusivity. She believes that designs should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also considerate of their ecological footprint and the diverse needs of users.

    Lindsey is enthusiastic about expanding her knowledge through her involvement with the organization and is committed to sharing her insights to educate and inspire others.
